We are very proud of the hard work and sacrifice that enabled us to build our Humane Society facility. The founders of our organization had a vision that became a reality in April 2008, and we now provide a safe haven to adoptable dogs and cats as they await their “forever homes.”
We became a no-kill shelter in September 2012 after a year of meeting the no-kill status requirements.
PLEASE NOTE:We are a shelter only with no authority for picking up stray animals. Please get in touch with Dawson County Animal Control.
Are you interested in adopting a dog or cat? We have lots of wonderful animals to choose from here at Dawson County Humane Society, and when you are ready, we hope you will give our precious furbabies all the consideration possible. We are a little biased, but we think rescue animals make the BEST pets!
Unique Giving Opportunities
The Dawson County Humane Society gratefully accepts goods and in-kind gifts to help the animals at our shelter. We appreciate donations any time of the year. Big or Small.
Whether you volunteer your time and talents, attend our events, support our programs or advocate for us, your involvement means more animals will get the care and second chances they so deserve.
